Hartley Halfpints (HH)
Hartley Halfpints are taking their first solo steps into the wilds of Hartley Park with opportunities to create, explore and learn in a shortened week. Staff will immerse campers in one fascinating theme for the entire camp, inspiring wonder and allowing for in-depth, hands-on fun. Campers must be three years old and fully toilet trained before camp begins.

After mastering fishing equipment, skills and techniques, we will hit the water of Hartley Park in search of perch, sunfish and bass. Campers will explore the ponds and streams of Hartley by foot and canoe. Friday will be spent at Wild Rice Lake in search of bigger fish.

Mountain Biking
Hartley Park is awesome for biking! Geared toward campers with little to no trail riding experience, we'll learn safety and basic technique, then get out there to experience the hills, pines and bridges. Each day will also include nature study and team games. Campers must bring their own helmet and trail bike (with front and rear hand brakes) each day!

Spend a few days on the grounds of the historic Congdon Estate exploring the history and ecosystem on site. Campers will identify plant and animal life and collect data on the aquatic life in Tischer Creek. Some history, a mansion tour, games and creek cruising fills out this adventure.

Tischer Creek flows through Hartley Park on the way to Lake Superior. Trekkers will explore Tischer from start to finish and learn about the watershed. Trekkers will also use Glensheen as a base for two days of exploration and data collection.

Family Nature Workshop: Fairy House
Grown-ups, grab your favorite littles (4-8 yrs) and head to Hartley for a camp of your own! This one day camp is intended to give you an opportunity to try camp for yourself,learn something new about nature and create a project and memories together. No charge for accompanying adult. FAIRY HOUSE: Spend the afternoon exploring some of our favorite outdoor spaces in search of fairies. Sing songs, go for a hike, forage for fairy house materials and build your own simple fairy house.

Family Nature Workshop- Butterfly Caretaker
Grown-ups, grab your favorite littles(4-8 yrs) and head to Hartley for a camp of your own! This one day camp is intended to give you an opportunity to try camp for yourself, learn something new about nature and create a project and memories together. BUTTERFLY CARETAKER: Get a hands-on experience with our resident monarch butterflies within our large Butterfly Garden. Learn about butterfly habitat, explore our native plants, collect seeds to start your own butterfly garden at home! We will hopefully have an opportunity to observe caterpillars, chrysalises, and release our adult monarchs, depending on availability.
